Carissa is an Australian trained Osteopath who has worked in Osteopathy clinics in Adelaide, Australia, before setting out on her adventure to join the clinic at Osteopathy Malta.
Originally drawn to Osteopathy after seeing her Dad benefit from treatment, Carissa completed a Bachelor of Complementary Medicine and a Master of
Osteopathy, graduating in 2014 with High Distinction.
Over the years Carissa has been involved in a wide range of sports from taekwondo to gymnastics, volleyball to yoga, and even a brief foray into parkour.
This has allowed her to develop an appreciation for the way the body can move, giving her a passion for improving the healthy movement of bodies of all shapes, sizes and ages. She believes that everybody and every body is different and enjoys working with a wide variety of musculoskeletal complaints.
Carissa has further completed studies in visceral manipulation, dry needling, Fascial Respiratory Diagnosis and Rebalancing (FDFR) and Muscle Energy Technique (MET).
When she is not at the clinic Carissa can be found outdoors, often somewhere
near the sea, or wherever there is coffee.
